Transmission dampers
Hi everyone,
Who has experience with bad tranmission dampers of the yamaha mt 03? - My mechanic says its a flaw from yamaha and the dampers and the hub have way to much play as original. tranmission dampers are the rubber cushions at the rear wheel were the hub with the sprocket is on.
The problem now is that i've got new tranmission dampers (about 400km old) they are mounted the correct way and everything is done by a proffesional mechanic, and i can move my sprocket up and down... Way to much play for new dampers.
Who here has experience with this or also the same problem?
Let me know
Thanks.

Re: Transmission dampers
Hi Zomoeilijk,
It's not possible to have so much free move with the dampers good fitted. I have also replace my old transmission bumpers on my old MT 03 from 2006 (my previous one) and ther was no move in the hub after that. Are you sure your mechanics has replaced the bumpers with the right ones ? It's hard to believe.....
PS : met zo'n pseudo komt u zeker uit België ?

Re: Transmission dampers
Well the dampers are original dampers from Yamaha. I was even there when he ordered them, so the wrong dampers? i doubt it.
This is the problem ; youtube.com/watch?v=ijc0ZAJs2_E
It was fixed by putting new original dampers (400km) ago, but the problem is back.
Everything is mounted the right way, with torque wrench, chain is adjusted...
So what is wrong over here haha?
PS; Nederlands haha

Re: Transmission dampers
Well, i've viewed your video on youtube, and it's crazy !!! I think your mechanic has forgotten a spacer on the axis when remounting your wheel. Such a free play is absolutely not normal
Please check here if all the parts are still presents, and rebuilded in right order : https://www.pieces-yam.com/yamaha-moto/660-MOTO/2008/MT03/MT03/ROUE-ARRIERE/23_2310-2310/B31/0/25135

Re: Transmission dampers
Just checked,
Everything is in the right order and is there, the play is less now... But still too much.
More people with the same problem who got a decent amount of play?
Can be fixing it with a inner tube of a motorcycle, or even use other dampers?
